Meet Uno! His name was chosen as he was rescued 1/1/10 the first rescue of 2010, incredibly enough he hasn't been adopted! Today it will have been 7 months since he has been in rescue! Please, we need to find him a home, the longer he stays with ARWOB the less ability we have to rescue another little one who needs our help. Uno was rescued off the street of Tijuana running very weakly around a very busy road. A volunteer and their mom stopped and offered him some food and he immediately came back and started to eat them as soon as we had him we placed him in the car and to the USA he went. He stayed with the rescuer for a whole month in her house 'under quarantine' while he gained the strength and nurtured back to health. He has always been a quiet little dog, unfortunately for the first months he only trusted the one person he probably had only known and trusted. Now, we has really formed a strong bond with his foster mom and her two older dogs. Uno LOVES these girls and really follows them around and does everything they do. So, even though he is a young 2 year old who weights 15 pounds and can play with all the dogs that come and go, his favorite 'activity' is to sleep and occasionally go outside and play with the 'young' crowd. Uno is not a barker, GREAT with cats, gentle around dogs and would do well with children but has never been exposed to them. VERY food oriented and would love daily walks. He enjoys car rides and is crate and house broken and will use the doggy door when he wants to go potty or play with his younger crew. We desperately NEED HELP FOR UNO, we are looking for someone who will be able to foster him so we can break the bond he was with his foster mom and her dogs (because he sabotages his adoption every time, he really wants to stay but his foster mom is unable to allow it) and starts to enjoy himself and the 'pros' of maybe being the only dog or being in a home that can take him out and show him what life is really about. Someone with experience is preferred or someone who has time and will be able to make a month commitment to see if he will progress to be more outgoing and not so shy. A foster parent or maybe someone who wants to foster to adopt will be welcomed! His adoption fee is waived. Uno is really a handsome little sweetheart and deserves a last chance! Please help us, help him.

The adoption fee covers all the costs for my care which includes microchipping, spaying/neutering, vaccines, deworming, etc. As long as you are in the San Diego county area, you may meet me in my foster home or at a scheduled adoption event, otherwise, ARWOB is a non-profit organization and does not operate its own shelter. PLEASE NOTE: We have implemented a new policy for those that are currently in the military. IF YOU ARE IN THE MILITARY please fill out a short questionnaire in addition to the adoption application.
