Meet Elphie, a 3 month old female kitten who is not yet fully vaccinated nor spayed but will be through out the next few weeks. She is just too young to be spayed.
Currently Elphie is being fostered in the same home as her brother Mickey. This is what their foster mom has to say about them:
We named the girl Elphie -short for Elphaba- because she's always climbing things and getting into trouble; my niece named the boy Mickey, and although he's not as adventurous as Elphie, he still seems to get into places he shouldn't be (namely behind the couch). Both are sweethearts and enjoy playing and taking naps.
Things to know about Elphie, she is a beautiful girl!
Elphie is especially looking for a family who will provide her with a forever home not only because that is what all rescues require but because statistically its proven that black cats have a higher abandonment, relinquishment rate at shelters especially when their family's move. Because of this black cats have the highest euthanasia rate in shelters hence we need to know that whoever is interested in adopting Elphie is not a spur of the moment cute kitten moment but will love her and provide for her until she is an old senior, remembering that kittens grow fast and can look like adult cats weighing 10 pounds as soon as 10 months old yet they can be kittens at heart for ever! As they will always play, run, stalk and of course love.
Because they are young kittens who still need next round of vaccinations, deworming and sterilization/microchip implantation in about 4-6 weeks we require they are adopted in the San Diego area. Thank you.

If you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption application FIRST. If you do not have an application on file, you cannot meet me. The adoption fee covers all the costs for my care which includes microchipping, spaying/neutering, vaccines, deworming, etc. As long as you are in the San Diego county area, you may meet me in my foster home or at a scheduled adoption event, otherwise, ARWOB is a non-profit organization and does not operate its own shelter. If you would like to contact us PLEASE give us a call at 619-977-3593 or email us at animalrescuers@sbcglobal.net.
PLEASE NOTE: We have implemented a new policy for those that are currently in the military. IF YOU ARE IN THE MILITARY please fill out a short questionnaire in addition to the adoption application.
DOG & CAT ADOPTION EVENT, Saturday, September 18th from 11am-2pm at the Petco in Del Mar.

We are grateful to Randy Davis and everyone at Better by the Pound who have recently helped us in a consultation with Millie, one of our rescues. Without their help and guidance, ARWOB would not have been so successful in helping Millie find her forever home. Thank you!
