Mikey is doing just great! He has had the run of the house from day 1. I left him for 15 minutes a couple of times and he was OK -- just a little over-excited to see me come back (like I had been gone for hours instead of 15 minutes!). Today I had to be gone for a couple of hours and he had the whole house to himself. There have been no accidents and no destruction. (He also didn't eat the treats I left for him, so maybe he was just waiting for me to come back.) Eventually he will know that I always come back. He follows me from room to room. He makes himself comfortable on all the furniture. He's starting to pull less when I take him for walks. He has met about 10 neighborhood dogs so far. I may bring him to Kit Carson park tomorrow (weather permitting) where it's almost like a dog park because there are dozens of dogs walking with their owners. I won't play tennis yet, but he will meet all my tennis buddies and I will see how he behaves seeing all the balls go back and forth. Soon I'll bring him to the local doggie park when I can trust him to run loose (and maybe come to his name so I don't have to chase him). He's giving me quite a workout on our walks. I should still be in shape for tennis when P.T. says I can go back to play.
Thanks for such a sweet dog! He's all that I thought he would be.
Margaret

Hi folks...thanks for rescuing Smokey. He is the perfect dog for me and is loving his new home. I cannot believe anyone would let him go, but I'm so glad he found his way to me. Thanks Alondra and the rest of the team!

Hi there,
Just want you to know "Cody" is a wonderful family dog and we love him so much! He and my husband are the best of buddy's. They take their long walk every morning, and we all play ball with him, which he loves to do. Are you sure he's not part retriever? He has a
beautiful long, thick coat and is very handsome. People comment on him all the time. I was wondering if his chip was ever activated? The vet can't get a reading on it. Our old cat (21 yrs) finally made up with Cody and they sleep together every night - in the house!
He loves to be inside, which is unusual for the Collie breed. Let me know if we need to do something to get his chip activated.
Thanks,
Jan Duncan

Hi Alondra,
Sunny and Coco (formerly Polly) are doing great! Coco is a wonderful little dog. We took her to be groomed and she looks like a completely different dog now! She bonded to us in about 2 days, and she and Sunny love playing together. Coco usually gets control of all of the toys. She's been a welcome addition to our family.
Thank you! Laura and Greg

Hello Alondra and everyone at ARWOB! It has officially been two months that I have had Teddy and I am loving him more with each passing day! His new name is Corndog, and he is slowly growing into a trusting and loving dog. He continues to be skiddish (sp?) and shy in various situations, however, I have started him at obedience school and hope to see some more socializing as the months progress.
Overall he is a joy and a blessing and I am so happy and proud to be his owner. He still loves squeaky toys - we play fetch for hours at the park and he would go on longer if it were up to him.
Corndog even won the best name contest at the grooming place I take him to, they loved his name so much that they rewarded him with his very own Mega-Bone!
He is happy and playful and eating well, he's a joy in our lives. Thank you to everyone who made the adoption possible!

We adopted Goldy on Saturday and were surprised how fast she fit into our multiple animal household. The cats did not even flinch when they saw her and our senior dog, Zorro has not left her side. You did such a great job fostering her that we have nothing to do but enjoy her. Thank you so much. She is the perfect dog for us and we love her.

Hello ARWOB!
Sorry I have been remiss in sending an update.
Cali (Claire) and Tiny Timmy are doing great! They officially own the place. They have 20 windows to gaze out of and have many favorite spots for napping. There have been no attempted escapes, so everyone is safe and happy. Casper has completely adopted his new brother and sister, and they wrestle and chase throughout the day, then cuddle at night.
They remain as cute and loving as you remember them, and Tiny Timmy is the biggest clown of all!!
I hope you all are doing well and that you continue to do your very important work.
Warm regards,
Judi

We adopted Lucy, a Cairn Terrier mix, a week ago. She is so sweet and loveable. She keeps me on my toes all day as my companion and has us laughing at her terrier antics. We love our little Lucy.

We adopted Kenzie (Candy) last weekend and she appears to be right at home already. She is house trained and has already graduated to sleeping in her own bed through the night. We have had trips to the dog park and to dog beach. She loves walking on the lead and went out with my walking group on Friday night and did really well. We think she is great!!!!! A real diamond in the rough. Thanks.

Well, its been a year since we adopted Dakota and we couldn't imagine our home without her. She had thought days socializing with us at first but as soon as she realized we were family she became the most loving family dog ever!
You were right, she is the perfect new addition to our family and we enjoy remembering the tough patches, she is our 'lassy'.
Thank you ARWOB!

Hi, Alondra!
Life has been fun with the puppy! The kids named her Maia (Maya) don't know how to spell it yet...
Everyone is loving her and she is settling in nicely! She has gotten more and more active with each passing day- I am guesisng that is a good sign:) She still LOVES to sit in her favorite patio chair and she is getting better at going for walks on the leash. We are working real hard on getting her to go potty in just one place, but to no avail just yet.
She is pure fun! thank you!

These kitties never stop, even at night, I hear them running
around. They start, usually when I get up, running. They are very
playful and come when I talk to them (which delights me). Their new
names will be Sunshine (Bity) and Shadow (Betty).

Hi
Mr Bosley has certainly made himself at home with us. We are very happy with him. Missy and him play all over the backyard. Yes, it has all grass now. No more foxtails for Mr Bosley...no never again.
Again, the whole process was very nice and professional and friendly. If we ever want dog #3 we will look you up again.
All the Best

The babies are going great! They have gotten over their fear of the dogs
and have the run of the house. The dogs like to stick their nose in their
bellies and have the kitties bat their face with their paws. It's
adorable. The first time Callie let Missie do that to her, Missie was
visibly happy. She had been trying too hard and kept scaring Callie. We
are a happy family thanks to you.

Could you please post this picture on the ARWOB web site under Happy Endings of Orangy and Silly. We have renamed them Charlotte (Orangy) and Scarlet (Silly). They are wonderful kitties, and I am so happy to have adopted two kittens from your organization. You do wonderful work and I will spread the word to anyone who is in need of adopting animals from ARWOB. Thank you, Judy and Tom Gazaway

We just want to let you know about Julie. After all we didn't change her name. She is so intelligent, obedient, eager to please, mellow, laid back and all times playful. She's very social and really good with other dogs and people, never aggressive. Thanks for saving Julie for us!

Our baby girl turned 10 months old! She is doing so well and is spoiled rotten. Would you believe that her hair has grown even longer and fluffier? We don't know what we did before her! Our sweetheart is getting a new cat house, her own pet fishy and a water fountain for her 1st birthday in May! Thank you so much for getting her home to us! And please don't forget to send her baby pictures!
