Happy Endings from our recent fundraiser: "I've been meaning to send you a picture of Pacquito (aka Houdini) for a long time so this finally got me to do it. We're still up in the L.A. area. I'm loving my job and Pacquito has many friends at our apartment complex. He especially enjoys "Yappy Hour" in the leasing office after work when there's usually a few dogs getting treats. This is a pic from our apartment newsletter, he was the first pet on the month! He's turned into a great dog and I'll always be thankful that I found your organization when I was unemployed and down in the dumps. Thanks for all you do. I hope your fund drive is very successful!"
Monkey (fka as Trooper) has found his forever, loving home. Here is what his new family has said about him: "He's such a wonderful addition to our home. He's not only a fantastic playmate for Nutmeg, but he's starting to fill the hole in my heart left from when our 16 1/2 year-old Puppy passed away in April. I thought that hole would never be filled."
It has been a little over two years since we adopted Topaz (now named Gamma) from ARWOB. I'd like to give you an update on how he has been doing! Attached are a few photos of him that we took recently. He is doing really well. He's grown into a beautiful and strong 10-lb cat. He is still vocal (aka loud), just like how he was as a kitten. We have since moved from Hillcrest to La Jolla. He adjusted to the move really well. His favorite thing is to sit by the window and chirp (sometimes yell!) at the birds, seagulls, and crows that hang out on the trees. He is very active, and we have trained him to walk on a leash, so he can burn off excess energy by going on walks! Gamma is a joy to have. He also wrestles and chases our other kitty around, helping her lose some weight! Anyways, just thought you may like to know how the kitty is doing. We are so glad that we were able to adopt him! :)
Apollo and Champion (fka Mango and Kumquat) love to sleep with my daughter and love, love, love!! to look out the window and enjoy the ocean breeze as it goes through the house. Apollo is the lighter colored one, where Champion is a little darker. Apollo is very friendly and loves to eat (and try to escape out the back sliding door). He is the first one to greet you when you get home for the day. Champion is more reserved, but donât let that fool you, he is the trouble-maker and gets himself into a lot of trouble. He gets up on top of the counters and the top of the cabinets when he thinks no one is home. He has been found in many precarious positions. Champion is a snuggler when he likes you, where Apollo will snuggle with anyone. When my daughter is on the trampoline, they will sit by the back window and cry for her to come back in. She is very good to them and you can definitely tell she is their favorite!!!
