Nia

Nellie's (FKA Nia) new family couldn't be happier. Here's a great picture of her (R) with her new sister, Lacy (L). Their family writes: "Can't believe Lacy went and laid down next to Nellie. She has never done that with another dog. Made my heart feel warm and fuzzy. This is at coffee after our morning run, hike. We are loving Nellie." May 2014 Update: We just got back from a 2 week trip to Utah. Lots of jeeping and hiking. Nellie did wonderful. Here is a picture of Nellie and Lacy in the back of the jeep. They are very comfortable with each other. Thank you for the wonderful dog!

Ana

I adopted Ana, changed her name to Abigail, on Feb 21, 2013. She had a bit of a rough start as a baby on the streets of Mexico. The parasites and poor nutrition contributed to some issues that needed to be addressed and created a bit of a challenge in the beginning. After trying some medical approaches I decided to try a more organic approach. Abigail was having a terrible time with her immune system which left her vulnerable to all kinds of parasites and Demodex mange. As you know this is challenging at best. Since the immune issues were the root of all her health challenges I decided to address that problem with full force. After doing some research and cross checking lists of foods good for building immunity and lists of food off limits to dogs I created a new diet for her. Along with her dry food, Kirkland brand, I mixed in ground kale, broccoli, carrots, whole blueberries and plain Greek yogurt. There were some others too but always she ate a mix of two or so of the above. I had taken her off the Ivermectin due to an out break of fleas about half way through her second course of treatment. After stopping the medication and incorporating her new diet it was about two months and she was a completely different dog. Her coat was stunning, the itching and chewing had stopped and she was a healthy and happy girl! She is now approximately 18 months and is 70lbs. All my dogs now get raw veggies in their dry food each morning and for treats too. They love them!! As for Abigail and me, we took a basic manners class which was wonderful for us both. She is very sweet, very loving and eager. Exercise and training are part of everyday and she is so worth it!! My bed is the only piece of furniture she is allowed on and she takes full advantage as you can see by her pictures. As she has grown I see Dutch and German Shepard (she has a very definitive black saddle) and possibly Belgian too. She is a show stopper when we are out in the community and we are stopped often so people can pay attention to her and ask questions about her. Thank you for saving this beautiful girl so she could come be a part of my family!!

Canelo

We adopted Canelo (now known as Jessie), a Belgian Malinois, in June of 2012. Jessie is the calmest, sweetest, most thoughtful person I know. He is especially gentle with even the smallest children and animals. He gets lots of chewies and treats, goes for walks 2-3 times a day, and his favorite thing is going for a daily ride in “his” Jeep. He smiles so hard, his lips curl back at the edges. His best friends are Dusty, our cool cat, and Ben, a former Starving Street Stray terrier mix we found wandering the streets. They play constantly, and are inseparable. THANK YOU to ARWOB and his Foster Family for giving him a second chance! Jessie in his Jeep, getting ready to go to Fiesta Island for a RUN!

Doogie

We can't thank you enough for saving "Doogie" he is the sweetest most amazing puppy, and has stolen our hearts in just a few days! We decided to re-name him "Charlie", he is already getting used to his new name and home, loves playing with his brother and sister, taking lots of naps, and using our fountain in the backyard as his own personal water bowl! We love him already, and he has fit right into our family. It was such a pleasure meeting you and Charlie's foster parents, we are so grateful for all the angels that made it possible for him to be part of our family. :) ~Teri (10.6.2013) Here is a recent picture of Charlie- he has grown in every way- when we first got him he was smaller than our golden- now he barely fits on the couch! He is over 100 pounds, but sits in our laps, and jumps in bed with everyone in our family. We love him so much, and are so thankful you saved him. All the best- Teri (3.5.2014)

Peanut

Tank was adopted from ARWOB as a puppy named "Peanut". Tank's family sent us a--pardon the pun--short update! "Tank's legs, well, they are on the shorter side and he looks just like an over grown Doxie!"
