Pecan was adopted in November 2022 and he is now living his best life! He had a rough start with his mama and his 3 siblings, but thankfully ARWOB was able to pull them from the Devore shelter. The family had been "red listed" for euthanasia, due to the lack of space. Thankfully an ARWOB volunteer heard about their dire situation and drove all the way to Devore (2 hours one way) to exit the family and bring them into our care (a total of 20 kitties were exited from Devore that day by our amazing volunteer). Now Pecan is living with his new adoptive mom and he is enjoying all the love he deserves! We couldn't be happier about this "purrfect" update from his mom:
"He is doing great! He eats well and loves running around and playing with all his toys. He really likes looking out the window and see what’s going on outside. He’s a cuddle bug and enjoys having play dates with my parents cats. Overall, I’d say he’s doing really well and seems happy. I’m really happy I adopted him."
Zeb (fka Mike) was adopted in November 2022. His adoptive mom shared this great "pupdate" with us. Apparently Zeb and his canine sibling Toby have names that come with an interesting backstory! Here's what she has to say:
"Mike, now named Zeb, is doing great. He's grown to about 14.5 pounds now (we just went to the vet for some preventative care where he was weighed), and I'm guessing he'll top out around 18-20. He settled in right away with my other dog, Toby, whom he clearly adores. They snuggle, chase each other around the house, and wrestle over toys. I loved to see them both so engaged. He's definitely a cuddler, and I like to think of him as my personal hot water bottle during these last few weeks of cold nights. He's been a wonderful addition to the family. Fun fact for anyone who is a Margaret Atwood fan: the dogs are named after Toby and Zeb of the Maddaddam Trilogy."
Ruby (fka Craven) was adopted in November 2022. We received a nice "pupdate" from her adoptive dad. Here is what he has to say about her:
"Craven has been an amazing addition to our family. She is so well behaved, she can sit and lay down on command., we are working on roll over. We have potty trained her and she knows where to go outside, such a smart dog! Her new name is Ruby and she is popular when we take her on walks and especially at the vet! We couldn’t be happier."

Bonnie was just adopted in January 2023 and her family has shared this nice photo with us, letting us know she's doing great!
