To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Sol

We received a fantastic update about Dottie (fka Sol).  This is a very special update, because Dottie joined two other ARWOB alumni and she is now part of their happy, furry family as of January 2022.  Archie and Manxy (fka N1 and N4) were adopted from ARWOB in April 2020 and they have welcomed their feline sister into their home!  Dottie even has a doggie sibling!  Here is what her adoptive family has to say:

"Thank you for checking in on our Dottie (fka Sol). She's doing great! She is very confident and definitely puts her brothers and giant canine sister in check. Nonetheless, she is a cuddle bug too. Definitely a lap kitty and settling in wonderfully.  We are so thankful to ARWOB for giving us the 3 best cats in town!"

Maize

We received a sweet update about Maize, who was adopted from ARWOB in January 2022.  Here is what her adoptive mom has to say about her:

"Thanks for checking in! Maize is doing great, she’s a very energetic and affectionate kitty who absolutely loves cuddling and playing with her toys. She’s already on her second unicorn wand (she’s quite ferocious when she’s playing!) and is constantly purring up a storm. She’s such a little joy to be around and we feel so lucky to have her as part of our family!"

Beast

Happy 13th birthday to Beast!! Today’s update is special for a few reasons. Beast and his sibling Bernie were two kittens that had been adopted from ARWOB back in October 2009. Sadly, they were relinquished back to ARWOB seven years later in November 2016. Apparently their previous family had gotten a dog that was not cat friendly, so they relinquished these two senior brothers. When they came back to ARWOB, we discovered they both had serious dental disease, which we immediately had them treated for. One of the brothers also had serious respiratory problems, but thankfully with constant care, he survived the crisis.

The senior brothers were eventually fostered together by a lovely volunteer, who fell in love with them both and decided to adopt them together as a pair in February 2017. Although Bernie has since crossed the Rainbow Bridge, Beast is enjoying life with his two other feline brothers Matthew and Gunnar, who are also ARWOB alumni. They came to live with Beast and his loving mom in October of 2020. Beast may be 13 years old, but he is happy, healthy, and very youthful. He gets along very well with Matthew and Gunnar, which provides Beast with constant feline companionship in his loving home! All we can say is that sometimes there is a happy ending!

Flip

We received a spectacular "pupdate" about Jax (fka Flip).  He was adopted in April 2021.  Here is what his adoptive mom has to say:

"I hope you and the ARWOB team are all doing well! My own ARWOB Tijuana pup (Jax, formerly known as Flip) turned 1 year old last month, so we threw a fiesta to celebrate! All the goodest boys and girls came out to celebrate with him at the Fiesta Island Dog Park. Even his foster mom and her family stopped by to wish him a happy birthday. Thank you for connecting me with Jax. Adopting him has been one of the best decisions I've ever made."

Sweets

Awww!  Sweets waited patiently for a long time to find her forever home and it seems to have been worth the wait!  She is already so happy with her new adoptive mom.  Sweets went to her new home on 2/6/22.
