Meet Madison!
Update (9/16/25) from Madison's foster family:
"Madison is such a darling and playful little kitten. While generally more on the reserved/independent side, she has certainly opened up after a few days of needing space and now always wants to know where the action is and what's going on. If you need her attention, reach for the toys instead of the treats, as she's much more interested in playing, with wand toys (or really anything that moves) being her favorite option. After a few days of letting her come to me and experience the new space as her own kitten, she began seeking out attention and now loves to be pet and cuddled (still on her terms of course)! She has the tiniest, most fragile little "meow" I've ever heard, and every time I hear it, I melt. Now that she's comfortable with me and being touched, she wants nothing more than to be on my laptop, on the book I'm reading, or really on top of whatever else might have my attention at any given moment. She sleeps right next to me all night and is the gentlest, quietest, most adorable kitty on Earth. Anyone who wins her over will have earned a tiny companion for life, and she is so worth the few days of giving her the space she needs to feel safe with a new person. She is completely potty trained, never makes a mess, and is the sweetest little thing! I’m excited to see how she continues to open up as more time passes."
Original Rescue Story:
Meet the May Kittens!
These siblings/Friends are 2 litters of kittens who were rescued around 5 de Mayo.
First litter is compromised of 3 siblings: Leeluu (F), Gypsy(F) and Zeke (M)
Second litter is compromised of 4 siblings: Aurore (F), Madison (F), Vincent (M) and Clay (M)
The 2 litters were fostered at casa de ARWOB and for the first couple of weeks where isolated from each other in different rooms BUT since mid January both litters have incoorporated with each other and see each other as siblings/friends. They are all pretty cool kittens, now growing but could not become available for adoption since sterilization appointments were not available for the month of June/July. Hence the kittens have only now become availabe for adoption in August.
The litter of 3 come to ARWOB from a rescuer in Tijuana, Mexico. The mama cat owner treatened to toss them in the street and the dog rescuer intercepted them. Thankgoodness since they are SUCH great babes. Their coats have always been so soft as well and just total purr buckets.
Zeke was the MOST outgoing purring the minute you touched them. His sisters were a little shy and Gypsy was undernourished about half the size of his 2 siblings hence their foster spent most time with Gypsy feeding her and all 3 have thrived and are in excellent health. Fully vaccinated and READY for adoption.
The litter of 4 come to ARWOB from the east county (alpine area) when a citizen called about kittens being stuck inside a car where their mom gave birth to them. The mama cat belongs to the neighbors sadly, too many neighboors there have adult cats who are allowed outside and are intact. TNR mom was a project to prevent further litters like these. Aurore was THE sweetest most outgoing shadow kitten while the other 3 were shy/hesitant of humans. ALL 4 had terrible eye infections that needed to be cleared. Thankfully while under treatment they got used to human touch and socialization which allowed for them all to come out of their shells at different levels. Madison was the runt at half the size and her foster spent most time with her the first couple weeks to increase her weight. Otherwise all have been healthy and amazing kittens.
All 7 kittens are exposed to dogs and cats and would be great around other cats or cat friendly dogs. The kittens are not afraid of dogs unless its a rowdy dog with high energy coming at them with no boundries thinking they are there for their entertainment, if the dog is just friendly and has a good approach energy the kittens all will try to befriend them. They do very well with cats and would do best in a home with other cats or adopted with any of their siblings/friends.
They have not lived with children. They are very social and loving with their foster. They all purr when being petted and try to stay in your arms or climb the bed to be with you. You will also find them around your desk/computer observing you or behind your computer chair. Most all kittens will try to hide or run away when new people enter the home so meet and greets may not go very well. Most will relax and seek attention after the first introduction but we suspect it won't be a "love at first meet" if you move fwd to meet these kitts. Anyone adopting these kittens should know it will take a couple of days for them to acclimate to a new environment and new people. Toys and FOOD are the way to their heart and to feel at ease. They are always ready to play and eat. They all have excellent litter box manners.
All kittens have been tested and felv/fiv negative.
To meet and possibly adopt one or two of these cuties please submit an application online at ARWOB.org once received we will contact you to schedule a call to finish processing your application. If approved we can move fwd with scheduling a meet and greet and adoptions can happen same day of the meets.
