This adorable girl has the most noble and loving personality, loves people and dogs, and is a lover not a fighter type dog! She seems to be ok with cats and is great with children. She is crate and almost housetrained, but, as a pupper who is just happy about life, she will still need a family to continue to train her. She knows how to sit and is getting better on the leash but some doggy training to improve her leash manners (ex: pulling) would make this girl just perfect for any family!
Pollyanna came to us as a Tijuana stray. When we took her to be spayed it was surprising to see she was already spayed, but a huge granuloma that was mass like was found instead. Sadly, the vet wasn't able to help her and she was closed and transferred to a specialty hospital where she was seen by board certifiied surgeons. What they realized is this girl was likely spayed at a low cost spay clinic in Mexico who sadly used zip ties and those, after a while, caused the granuloma. sadly though, this infected a kidney and her left kidney, along wits the granuloma, was removed. We were sad for the outcome but glad it wasn't life threatening and we will take a kidney removal over cancer any day of the week!
Pollyanna has recovered well. From day 1, she always acted like she didn't just have such a surgery and has done amazingly well through her recovery. She has been given the green light for adoption and adopters just need to know she needs to have constant access to water, wet food wouldn't be a bad idea to be part of her diet in order to provide even more water than dry (lucky Polly!) and to let their family vet know she only has one kidney as some medications aren't to be used to prevent kidney function issues like no NSAIDs, if she ever needs medications. Aside from that, there are no special instructions. Pollyanna is just a besutiful soul who will make a family very happy!
