Meet BonBon!
BonBon is a “courtesy listing” for a kind person who has reached out to ARWOB, hoping we can provide more exposure for several rescue dogs she has in her care. BonBon is an adorable Bichon Frise that looks very much like a poodle. His owner had to relinquish him because her living situation changed and she and her husband had a new baby. She had to move into a very small apartment and could not keep BonBon, which broke her heart because he was with her his entire life.
BonBon is house trained (he also uses pee pads), crate trained and leash trained. He was regularly around dogs and cats when he lived with his previous owner, so he gets along with them. He likes both men and women, but he would be best not to be in a home with small children. In fact, his rescuer feels he would do best in a home with quiet teenagers if children are present. He does have a little bit of separation anxiety when left alone and will whine initially — he just wants to be with his humans whenever possible. His rescuer and her husband are home most of the time, so he has become accustom to their presence. However, if he is put into his crate when left alone, he seems to calm down and will go to sleep.
Here is what BonBon’s rescuer has to say about his personality: BonBon is low maintenance, as long as a person is around to give him the attention he needs. He loves to go for walks and car rides! He wants to be around people, but he is not a “kissy licky” kind of dog. He does not jump on strangers and never causes problems in public. He is full of energy when he first wakes up from naps, but is low key the rest of the time. He often acts submissive to people, but has never been abused. BonBon would do well with a family with a disabled person in the home or a family with older quiet teens. He would be a great emotional support dog!!! He will need regular grooming to keep him looking handsome.
If you are interested in adopting BonBon, please fill out an online adoption application right away. This adorable little man would love to meet you! Don’t wait.
