Meet Springer! He bounces like a kangaroo!

Springer is a “courtesy listing” for a kind person who has reached out to ARWOB, hoping we can provide more exposure for several rescue dogs she has in her care. Springer was left in a trailer park in Valley Center by his former family, who skipped town. The trailer was trashed so badly, it had to be demolished. Springer was left in a wire crate in the equally filthy backyard with no food or water. He has been with his current rescuer since October and he is safe with her, but will need some basic training at this time. She won’t be able to begin his training until April, but would consider an adopter who is willing to start his training right away. He is a cute, happy, little guy that should be fun to train. He is smart and willing, but just needs some work so he can learn how to be an inside dog. At this time he is not house trained, crate trained, or leash trained. Therefore we are looking for a savvy adopter that is able to help Springer learn these things.

Springer is small and quiet enough for a condo or house with a small yard. Since Springer has been outside his whole life, suddenly being placed totally indoors would be tough for him. He would love some older kids he could play with and be trained by, but we do not recommend a home with small children due to the fact that he needs to focus on learning his commands. He loves to run, so active adults would be a great fit for him. He enjoys playing with other dogs and is social with people, but we are not sure how he might be with cats since he has not been tested with them.

His current rescuer is willing to keep Springer in her care, but would love to find an appropriate home for him, as long as that person is willing to take on his training requirements. If a dog savvy adopter would like to take a chance on this handsome little guy and if they are willing to commit to his training, that would be wonderful!

If you are interested in adopting Springer, please fill out an online adoption application right away! Don’t wait, as this boy would love nothing better than to find a forever, loving home where he can feel secure. After what he has been through, can you blame him?
