Hi! My name is Benny and I am a 10 month old Labrador Retriever mix. If you look below, you’ll see pictures of when I was just a small pup. Yup… I have grown since then, but I most definitely have not lost my puppy energy. I’m quite active and will no longer get as tired as quickly as when I was a pup. No more naps for me! Although I’m still as active as ever, I am not as destructive around the house, however, if you give me a good stuffed toy it won’t even last for 5 minutes, so I think a more durable rubber toy such as a KONG is more suitable. Even when I’m not playing around with those toys, I am quite the character and love to run around very happily as if nothing is bringing me down. I am always very joyous and with all this energy, it can be non-stop fun. Because I am relatively energetic, I need an owner who will take me for walks and to the dog parks and beaches to run around with my friends. I get along well with other dogs and know how to have a good time without getting into trouble. I also do well around humans, however, when I see kids, I get extremely excited and tend to jump on them. So, maybe until I learn my manners, I should probably go into an all adult home or a home who will take the time to teach me by taking me to puppy school.
I am very smart though and respond well to training. I have some leash training and a little bit of obedience training although I could use some more reinforcement in order to get those commands down. I have been known to have a fixation on cats and will chase them down if given the chance, so a home with cats, rabbits or other critters as such is not an option, however, I do get along with smaller dog breeds as long as they can tolerate my strength. In general, I’m a pretty chill dog if I get enough exercise along with the equal dose of rules and affection. I’m quite the lover and definitely not a rule-bender. (08/18/09)

My adoption fee is $200 and it covers all the costs for everything I have described. As long as you are in the San Diego county area, you may meet me in my foster home or at a scheduled adoption event, otherwise, ARWOB is a non-profit organization and does not operate its own shelter.
