Meet Moxie!
This sweet girl has had a ROUGH life. She was rescued from an owner in Ensenada when we noticed a dog in the roof chained to a pole. She barely had any room to move around, no real roof to shade her from the heat. We saw no bowls and only a bucket of very dirty water for her to drink from. She was living in filth, almost the whole floor had feces and not only was she skinny, but also had severe skin infections. The rescuer who requested the owner to relinquish her dog to her and took Moxie directly to the vet clinic for hospitalization as she was clearly dehydrated. She was picked up a few days later and she took her home to recover and rehab. It took a couple of months for her coat and infections to heal, and she is now a beautiful shiny girl. She is doing great with people and dogs. Has not been cat tested.
She is now in boarding in San Diego and we need to find a foster family to help her learn the ropes of a family environment. It would be great to enroll her in dog training to learn socialization and, of course with a strong girl like her, an adopter who is looking for a larger breed.
