Meet Maxx!
Little Maxx is an adorable, small chihuahua under 10lbs who was rescued in thesummer of 2019 when he was left behind by a man who was being evicted by his landlord in Tijuana. Thy landlord contacted an Indie rescuer of Tijuana and asked if they could take the 10 month skin and bones little one before they let him out in the streets.
Sadly, this little guy has been waiting for a home for more than 7 months.. stuck in Tijuana with his rescuer who has several dogs of her own. He is being "left behind" ei ignoring his needs a bit.
He sleeps inside and lived inside along with the other dogs, but he is not house trained or crate trsined. He can hold it most of the time, but he can be a marker like all small dogs but mostly in NEW environments... not the home he knows (we do anticipate accidents in the home of whoever fosters, fosters to adopt or adopts this little guy)
We asked his Indie rescuer to start crate training him and are hopeful we can find a foster ASAP for this guy to be exposed to an actual life which includea walks, one on one basic training to help him with simple things like potty training and sit, stay etc.
He is great with dogs, BUT he is a little spicy and has a little Napoleon complex towards the bigger dogs and can sometimes be a rough player with the larger dogs. He is easily correctable when you ask him to stop. Like most chis, he can be a little vocal; again, he is a social lap dog who is a great family dog and even a doggy friend, but has not had any training making it hard for him to find a home who can work with him. A FOSTER who can help him improve and be ready for a family or FOSTER to adopt trial would be fantastic... especially so he can be in San Diego snd we can have him attend adoption events.
