Meet Dom aka Dominic!

Update 4/10/20 from Dom’s foster family:

Dom is doing really well! We have been working on house training and walking on the leash. Our pup Tully (came to us through ARWOB too!) is helping show him the ropes. He's a big snuggler once he's had his play time. Dom runs around and plays with no issues, I don't think he realizes he's down a leg :)

Energy: He definitely is still a bit of a puppy. Once he comes out of his crate in the morning he is definitely ready for some play time. He enjoys tearing up stuffed toys, and chewing on a couple super chewer toys we have around for our dog Tully. They will also bound around the apartment together and wrestle.

House: We have figured out a good schedule for him to help him with his house training, and he has had no accidents for 3 days (4 if you count today) We have been walking him as soon as we take him out of his crate, feed him and let him play around the house for an hour or two, crate him for an hour or two, walk him and repeat.

Personality: He's a spunky little guy, very outgoing and excited to meet new friends. He can get a bit over excited on our walks when he sees other dogs, but we are working on that (all he does is bark and pull toward them, always wagging his tail) He is an absolute cuddler. He loves when we have couch time, and he will snuggle up right in your lap.

Limitations: The only limitation we have seen is that he can't jump up to our bed (Tully gets up there to take a nap break if he still wants to play) and at night when he's a bit tired from playing he struggles to get on the couch a bit, but can still make it if there's a clear spot for him. Other than that he has been running around and mostly keeping up with Tully. We haven't worked on much obedience training, but he is pretty good with coming when we call him or whistle.

____________

Dom is an adorable lab wanna be who is already full grown under 25lbs and tall but he is smaller, he is also a Tripawd as he was rescued back in December when he was found hit by a car in the streets of tijuana with a badly injured back leg and had to be amputated. This guy is still fairly active and loves to run around and do things, he is great with the dogs and ok with cats, because of his puppy personality he can annoy a kitty but eventually learns to leave the kitty alone. He has been fostered in tijuana and we would love a san diego foster so he can finally be easily seen/shown. Even better he could use a foster or foster to adopt family ASAP for someone who is looking for an active yet not a running patern, he likes to run but wouldn't take him on a 5mi run. He has never truly been a family dog so training will be needed.

To meet him please submit a dog adoption application online at arwob.org
