More information on sweet sophie:
Hello, this is Sophie, a 2 year old Siamese/Ragdoll mix. She was previously adopted from the group sometime ago, but her adopters can no longer keep her as they have developed allergies. Here's what they have to say about her:
"We believe she most resembles the ‘Snowshoe’ or ‘Silver Laces’ breed, an offshoot of Siamese. Since she also likes shoes and shoestrings, we named her ‘Snowshoe’ and call her ‘Shoe’ or ‘Shoe-shoe’ for short. Her eyes are a beautiful clear blue, deeper in the center. Like the Siamese breed, she was whitish as a kitten, and her light tan markings darkened as she matured. Her ears and tail are brownish-black, with dark patches throughout her back, while her legs and tummy are snow white. Her pads are black. Her face shows the same dark markings, roughly an inverted ‘V’, with a black nose, and the top of her head is tan. Her fur is silky-soft. Her build is delicate, somewhat small, though she weighs a healthy 10 pounds. She is beautiful and very sweet, and we do very much wish we could keep her.
She gets along well with our other cat, though she is 5 years younger, and they provide companionship for each other during the day while we are at work. She has not had exposure to any other animals or to children, so we don’t know how that would work. She is friendly with strangers that come to the house. She is afraid of very loud noises such as our vacuum cleaner. She is very loving, and enjoys human companionship. She will often greet you at the door when you arrive home. She will sleep on the bed if you like, but will also curl up on the sofa with our other cat to sleep sometimes. She loves to curl up in your lap, or just sit by your side, if you are reading.
With regard to feeding, she is more of a ‘snacker’, preferring to nibble throughout the day, so a feeder works well for her. She has been indoor only, has no fleas, and is spayed. She is NOT declawed. Her claws are kept clipped, but she likes her scratching post, which has a perch on top, and also uses the cardboard floor types that you sprinkle with catnip. She does sometimes try to use the couch too, but we try to discourage her with a loud 'no', clapping our hands. She is lively, likes to drink water in her dish with her paws sometimes. She has never been bathed, of course. She loves to sit high on some furniture or in an open window, though she never seems to go on the kitchen counter, and rarely the dining table (we have tried to keep it clear of inviting things.) She loves chasing toys, is very sociable with everyone, even strangers who visit, and is quite intelligent. She likes plastic bags, will carry them around, and paper clips, which she could ingest, so we try to keep those put away and provide plenty of toys instead. She will even carry off a pencil or pen we leave out on a desk or coffee table. She is just plain curious, and has gotten herself shut inside our pantry more than once. She has walked outside once or twice when we left the door open for a minute, but never 'dashes' out. She loves to explore everything!"
