UPDATE 7/27/20: Here is what Deseray’s foster family has to say about her:
“When she sees birds, she wants to jump and get them. She seems interested in other dogs, but once they begin to approach her then she gets scared. I think she needs more time to warm up to dogs. Between her spaying and recovering we have not had much time to take her on doggy dates. She takes a few hours to warm up to small kids, she is shy otherwise. Once she has been around them for a while she gets more comfortable. She hates crowds and traffic going by when walking her in downtown, so someone in the suburbs would be good for her.”
ORIGINAL RESCUE STORY:
Deseray is a VERY sweet girl who was found wandering, abandoned in the desert, in early July close to starving with cuts all over. Her face appeared to have been scorched from long sun exposure. Now she is fully healed with hair still growing back! At home, she is back to being an energetic and happy dog who loves to play with her toys and be chased around. She is still shy around strangers and new dogs, but warms up after you give her a bit of time. She is mostly potty trained and knows some commands like sit and stay. She is currently being crate trained.
Deseray has received her vaccinations and is scheduled for her spay appointment 7/22/20. Weighing at around 30lbs and fully grown, she is going to stay petite. Even though she has a baby face, we estimate that she is 2 years old. We are scheduling meet and greets for Deseray and she will be available to go home after 7/23/20. If you are interested in this adorable girl, please fill out an online adoption application to start the process at www.arwob.org. Don't wait!
