To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Meet Day!

Because of COVID-19, sterilization appointments are not easy to arrange. This means Day can only be adopted to a local family in the San Diego area to ensure they are able to take her to the pre-scheduled surgery appointment.

Surgery schedule: Tuesday 11/24/2020. This surgery is scheduled in the 92104 zip code.

Therefore, please do NOT submit an application if you are not local to San Diego and able to attend the appointment shown above. If you would like to adopt and live outside of San Diego area, you are welcome to wait until her sterilization surgery has been completed to see if she is still available at that time.

UPDATE 11/10/20: We just received an update from Day's foster family:

She is the sweetest thing, with a loving and outgoing friendly personality. Great with dogs, cats and children. We currently have a kitten foster and our cat. She did bark a couple of times at both of them when introduced, but stopped when asked. She listens well too and comes when called. The jumping thing can be trained out, but she is going with no "home manners" so she’s “bouncey."

Note: We are giving priority to applicants who are willing to adopt immediately (we are not offering a foster-to-adopt trial for Day).

ORIGNAL RESCUE STORY:

Day was rescued off the streets of Ensenada Mexico. She has been a great little dog! She will likely reach 20-25 pounds when full grown, but she does not look like a small dog because of her longer, shaped body. We think she is a beagle/Italian greyhound/terrier mix. Our volunteers have reported that she is very agile, which means if someone is looking for a dog to hike with, take on runs, or sign up for agility courses, she would likely do well. She is great with people, dogs, cats and kids! We have already discovered that she is a super sweet dog!
