Meet the “D” Kittens: Donny, Danny, Denny, Donna, and Danna!
UPDATE 2-20-21: Here is what Danna and Danny's foster family has to say about them:
Danna will need an experienced foster or adopter who is willing to make her a priority and to socialize her so she becomes more interested in interacting with people. Being that she is young, we believe that with enough positive attention, repetition, and a definite routine that includes human touch/exposure, she will come around and be more loving towards people. For now, we would not recommend her for someone who is looking for a lap cat or a companion for children.
ORIGINAL RESCUE STORY:
This little family of 5 kittens was rescued back in late November. A good Samaritan was walking by the bay in Ensenada Mexico and heard kids screaming in chaos. The children had found the 5 kittens between the rocks and the water was rising! The good Samaritan approached and saw what was going on, so they decided to rescue all of them. It seemed the mama cat had chosen the wrong place to move her kittens and they were never able to locate her. The little family was infested with fleas and very malnourished, but thankfully they began to eat on their own right away.
We were waiting for a foster to take them in, so that we could arrange transport to San Diego. Now that these 5 kiddos are here, we are getting to know them better, while providing them better care and attention. So far it seems that Donny and Donna are a little bit more “scardy cat” than their 3 siblings, who are more outgoing. They get along well with other cats, however they have not been tested around dogs, so we are not sure how they might react at this point.
As of the first week in February, these cuties are being fostered in the 92117 areas, in 2 different foster homes. Their foster families are working on socializing them and getting to know them better. We plan to update their bios before Valentine’s Day and the kittens will be available for adoption after 2/12/21. We recommend that if you are interested in these adorable kittens, to submit an online adoption application at www.arwob.org. This will get the process started and if your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet for you. If the meet and greet session goes well, the kittens can be adopted that same day.
Priority will be given to adopters who have another cat living in the home. If you are considering adopting and do not already have another animal at home, please consider adopting another kitten, teen, or adult as well. Kittens are very cat oriented. As with all young kittens, these kiddos would be much too lonely without a companion when you are not home. This way they will have another kitty to play and cuddle up with when you are not with them, and, as an added bonus, they will double your pleasure and fun as well!
