To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Red went on a foster-to-adopt trial on 3/11/22.

Meet Red!

Red is such an easy going mild mannered handsome dude who was rescued by a good sam when he found this handsome kitty lying down in his back yard back in September. He took him in without knowing this guy had a pelvic fracture and thought it was just an easy going kitty and started to request help from rescues, etc for help. The people he contacted were unable to help him, so he kept the kitty home until he could be successful in finding help. Sadly, months came and went and there were no open spots. Finally, he contacted groups again and ARWOB was able to take him in, feeling badly about this poor kitt who had been kept in a dog kennel for so many months. This sweetheart, flame point siamese is a great cat, but we realized he was just TOO calm in his kennel and was typically sitting in the kennel which we thought was weird and requested a physical exam and Xrays. Sure enough, the xrays showed a traumatic OLD fracture from his pelvis which is no longer a candidate for surgical repair. He seems not painful and has been able to maneuver well in/out of the litter box and moving around now that he has the ability to walk around. However, we are DESPERATLY looking for an adopter or foster for this guy (perhaps a foster to adopt). We are looking for a family with or without other cats in the home as he seems very cat friendly or he would also enjoy being the only kitty. We have not tested him around dogs, but are happy to do so upon request.

We could REALLY use the help to provide a better life for Red and, for that, we need to secure at least a foster family who can provide a place to be and STRETCH a leg after being in a cage set up for so long. He currently is with one of our partner veterinarians in a kennel for lack of space and foster homes. We would like him to have a none cage set up; he is not a candidate for our cat adoption center as we don't want to have him in a kennel longer than he needs to so he can start building muscle on those back legs as his muscle has slight dystrophy from not having a normal environment to actually walk and jump around. We are looking for a foster, foster to adopt, or adoptive family. We have waived his adoption fee to help us find him a forever home ASAP

Adoption process:

Submit a cat adoption application online at ARWOB.org

Once received, an adoption counselor will contact you via phone or email within 1-4 days of submission to finalize processing your application. If approved to adopt a meet and greet will be scheduled at our adoption center at which time if the meet goes well and you choose to move forward with the adoption our kitties are ready to go home the same day.

*Once you submit an adoption application online if the cat you select is no longer available or is not a match for you but you are interested in other cats there is NO need to resubmit an application, just request ARWOB transfers that application to another rescue cat you'd like to meet which we currently have available for adoption or if you see someone in the future you'd like to meet please contact the group and request to reactive your application.

Notes for applicants:

-We do NOT place holds on rescues, please, do not submit an application unless you are READY to adopt MEOW.

-We require landlord approvals. if you rent, you should have written landlord approval before you apply to adopt a cat as we can't hold adoptions back or place hold on rescues.

-If you are not contacted by a volunteer within 4 days of submitting an application, please contact ARWOB via email to follow up on your application status, we typically cancel applications if there is no communication from both parties within a week and assume applicants are no longer interested.
