Cooper needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?
Print an adoption flyer for Cooper!
Cooper was rescued by a different rescue when he was an adult dog from the streets of tijuana. Unfortunately, that was about 2-3 years ago!!!
Her rescuer is losing her home and they posted on social media requesting help with the dogs under their care. ARWOB heard about the rescuer's plea for help with her dogs and we were able to help with 3 adults. We don't have foster help so we would LOVE to find a foster or adopter ASAP to get them out of boarding and out of our little headquarters because we have so many dogs already. It seemed Cooper had not been shown at adoption events from the other group for a LONG TIME and not networked properly so this poor boy had been stuck for almost 2 years in the same home, realistically forgotten. From the information gathered he slept in a shed along with 2 other large breed dogs, with allowed yard time in groups of dogs. Unfortunately with this heat waves during summer he lost a lot of weight and since taking him into ARWOB and getting medical done for him we found out he has high kidney levels and his vet had us placing him on prescribed kidney food along with SQ fluids under the skin 1-2 times a week and we will check blood work early November to see if that has helped, in all honesty just the different environment he is in now from before is probably going to help a lot with his values getting better, fresh constant water and better weather control environments where a senior dog doesn't need to worry about being submitted to harsher conditions to deal with as he is getting older. We also found out he has tick born disease as he was never tested when first rescued from Mexico streets so he is now on his daily antibiotics which should also help him and we are hopeful end of October of early novemebr we have better news about his current kidney condition.
What we CAN say is , HE IS LOVELY, just the best gentle easy going, mild to light energy level who just SMILES all day long and has no issues with the dogs she meets and enjoys humans SO MUCH. Such a deserving baby for a happy stable loving foster or adoptive home, we hope we can help him find one!
Although he is great, we don't know how he is with cats or farm/pock pets. He would likely be fantastic around children.
Would you like to meet this handsome and help us provide him a safe, stable, loving foster or adoptive home?
If you are interested in this sweetheart, please complete an online application at www.arwob.org. Don’t wait!
We typically only have adoption events once a month at the petsmart in clairemont 92117 but we can schedule meet and greets any day of the week as soon as we receive an adoption application, review it and set up a phone call interview, if approved we would love to move fwd to set up a meet in the 92117 and adoption can happen the same day of the meets. However, we don't place holds on rescues which means, please DO NOT submit an application to adopt if not ready to schedule a meet and greet within the week of submit an interest in adopting.
We are also able to offer Foster to Adopt trials, please request it during the phone interview or application submission. Most of our rescuers need a foster so if not sure about committing to adopt, just committing to foster would also help them/us A LOT.
