Hi!
My name is Merlie, and I was rescued from Ensenada, Mexico. Unfortunately, I was a stray who was rescued by a human who called herself a rescuer and took me to her sanctuary where I lingered for a while until THANKFULY someone found out about our situation and closed our captors. Myself and many other dog friends were found in terrible conditions kenneled in a very dirty and dark situation. No medical done and most of us were malnourished and p;ain starving and some like me were depressed and sick. Thankfully I was one of the lucky ones when a good human found out about me and chose to offer to nurse me back to health. I was her foster dog from June 2023 when I was freed and slowly but surely my health improved, I wasn't depressed anymore and went from 15 pounds 6/16/23 to 23 pounds 08/2023.
I am fostered by my guardian angel in Ensenada, Mexico and the following is what she has to say about me.
I don't know what they mean when they ask me "what breed am I? a doxi? cattle dog?" but I do know I am beautiful and likely a super mutt with MANY breeds in my genes all making me a perfect small, beautiful breed who LOVES everything and everyone, like the loving dog that I am!
I am looking for a foster home in San Diego (update, as of 9/11 I will be in san diego with a foster home, yay me!! can't wait!) while I get spayed in San Diego, My sterilization appointment is Late September in the 92104 area, would you be able to foster me while you adopt me OR even better, adopt me straight away BUT know you have to bring me to my spay appointment as these ARWOB volunteers are DEAD serious when they say my surgery apt is NOT transferable because we are already battling a huge pet overpopulation with so many friends trying to find homes, I don't need to be having a personal doggy family of my own. My surgery is OF COURSE already included with my adoption fee :)
Would you like to adopt me? Submit an adoption application NOW! A volunteer will review it and text or email you to schedule a 10-15min call to talk about the adoption process and if both parties want to move fwd schedule a meet and greet in the clairemont, mission valley or La Mesa area. We can schedule meet and greets ANY day of the week and any time during daylight as long as foster parent is available. ARWOB does NOT ship dogs so if you want to meet me you have to drive down to meet me AND ARWOB does NOT place a hold on rescues, so please do not submit an adoption application unless you are prepared/ready to be a puppy parent SOON typically within a week or so of submitting an application because I am READY to go home.

Rescue Story:
I pulled her out of the ESLR "shelter" two days after authorities closed it. Wendy and her husband Lucas offered to foster her until she healed and found foster in San Diego.
- Is a very sweet and affectionate Dog and a great pet!!
- she is very well behave, and sleeps indoors.
- she is potty trained to she does not go do her bussiness inside, she waits until she goes out.
- she does not bark inside the house only outside
- she gets well with other dogs.
- she will always prefer people company than dogs, she loves to be with humans and being pet.
- she is really lovable and a happy dog.
- she is a great pet for adult couples, cause she will be a dog that will like to snuggle and watch TV with you.
- she likes to go on car rides and sit on the copilot, and sniff the air.
