Meet the G litter!

Gerrie is an adorable “super mutt” rescued from Baja Mexico.  Sadly, there are 8 of these babies whom we need to find families for.  It is a travesty when pet owners choose not to sterilize their pets.  We do not know much about the background of the father)s) or the breed(s) since the mother dog had access to run free outside of their property.  Therefore, these cuties may be large or extra large breeds when full grown.  Their mama is full grown at 42 pounds, but they will likely be a large breed (we have included a photo of mama -- see the last pic posted on their bio).  The smallest of the litter may grow to the 60-80 pound range, while the largest may grow to be 80-110 pounds.  As of late May, these babies are in the 25-45 pound range and we think they will be a large or extra large breed when full grown.

Gaga is the largest of the females and Guava is the smallest girl.  Goya is the largest of the males and Gerrie is the smallest boy.  There is currently a difference of about 5 pounds between the smallest and the largest of the litter.  Some of these kiddos look like Aussies, whereas others look like Anatolian shepherds.  A few look like Labradors and some look like Collies.  Basically you have your Baja “supper mutt” and they are the absolute BEST!

These cuties are very loving towards people and other dogs.  They are friendly and social, getting along with all humans and other dogs they meet.  They will likely be great with cats too, but are not currently living in a home with cats.

These pups are crate trained and they sleep well through the night. They will take a few naps throughout the day in their crate after being tired out and needing a break for an hour or two.  Their adopter must have a work schedule that is conducive to having a new pup in the home, as they are NOT house trained. Adopters must have done research about potty training and have the patience and time for it.  Their adopter must understand that at this point, they cannot always hold their pee and must not get angry or stressed as they learn.  These large puppies can pee the size of a “lake” when they cannot hold it.  LOL!

The pups are all healthy and fully vaccinated.  However, they are NOT sterilized yet and have appointments scheduled for the end of June in the 92104 zip code area of San Diego.  Therefore, we are only able to consider local San Diego adopters until their sterilization surgery has been completed.  This is because the adopter will need to bring their pup to the sterilization appointment and pick them up after they are finished (surgery is included in their adoption fee).  We will consider adopters outside of the San Diego area AFTER they have been sterilized.

We are looking for adopters who intend to take dog training seriously and who will enroll their new pup in group puppy training classes.  This will ensure that these adorable pups will grow into an amazing adult dog!

If you are ready to adopt one of these cuties, please submit an application and we will schedule a phone call and hopefully move forward with a meet and greet.  If you are interested, please fill out an online application at www.arwob.org right away!
