Meet Duke!
Duke is a sweet boy, who was adopted by a senior couple back in February 2024. Unfortunately, life circumstances changed and this handsome boy needs to come back to ARWOB. We would LOVE to find an adopter for Duke soon, so he can hopefully go from his current family to his new family and bypass the foster system. If you are interested in fostering Duke, we will only consider LONG TERM fosters, which would be someone who is willing to foster him until he is adopted. Otherwise, our priority is to find an adopter asap. If you are interested, please complete an online application right away at www.arwob.org!
Here is what Duke's dad has this to say about him as of 3/16/26:
“Always a gentleman and very mellow at home, loves people, kids, and affection. Loves park, only time he gets really energetic and pulls on leash. Shy, cautious in new situations/environments, especially if area is noisy. He has not played with toys and does not retrieve but I know ARWOB had mentioned he did like to play with toys while with them. Duke is dog friendly and will only react if the other dog is reactive, he may also not be a fan of larger than him male dogs, not sure. He loves to be petted and given attention, if people don't give him attention he just ignores them. He is very good at coming when called. Responds to both English (Duke, come!) and Spanish (Duke, ben!) When left alone, stays in house and sleeps. At home he is quiet, mild, sleeps in his bed in my bedroom. Duke is mostly indoors, but loves to sun in backyard. He has never jumped fences, rarely barks.”
