To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Pepito is diminutive for 'pepe' which is a great name for this 2 year old, 4.0 lbs, young at heart, adult chihuahua.

He was found as a stray in the streets of San Diego and ended up at the Department of Animal Services early November. His owners never claimed him. So, now he is looking for a loving forever home. We are looking for a home who knows and loves the breed. He is VERY people friendly, both with children and adults. We do recommend children who are not too young as Pepito's little figure is fragile and an accidental step or drop can be VERY harmful. The ideal home would have other little ones to keep him company like another small dog or cat or maybe someone who is looking for a constant companion. We are happy to report Pepito is not really a barker, he is not a 'yappy' dog and only does so when something is going on. He does very well on the leash, he is crate trained and is a GREAT lap dog!

He loves to play, have someone chase him and he prances like a show horse when he walks behind you - just a great little fellow!
