About Brooklynn | |
|
|
Brooklynn is a medium sized dog. She has wire Terrier hair and Shar Pei skin. Her nose and ears are also Shar pei-like. She has small paws and a small body frame.
Brooklynn LOVES cats! She is overall a very sweet, quiet girl. She can be left alone in her crate while her owner goes to work for 8 hours. Whenever she is in a yard, she is able to entertain herself. She would do wonderful with another doggy companion to play with or she can also be the only canine in a home just as long as she has someone to spend quality time with. She loves to cuddle! She's such a sweet little girl!!
UPDATE - AS OF 12-23-11 Sharpay has found a foster family in San Diego, and here's what they have to say about her:
She is always VERY excited to see her owner(s) in the morning and also when they come home from running errands if she has been alone. She acts like a maniac (a cute, harmless one) and then flops down somewhere to be close.
Basic Commands: knows how to “sit” and “shake”. “Lie down” is puzzling to her, and she usually ends up just rolling on her back for a belly rub. Also, “stay” is not in her vocabulary, but in my opinion, she is smart enough to pretend she doesn’t understand that command.
Potty Training: had a few accidents the first week she was with us, but is now housebroken. She has not had any overnight accidents the entire time she has been in our home.
Bedtime: sleeps in her crate with a toy or two and would whine a little the first few nights because she did not want to be alone. After one week, she no longer whines and doesn’t make a sound except for her occasional, sweet doggie sighs she does as she lays down and rests her chin on her paw.
Toys: likes stuffed animals and will carry them around even if they are almost her size. She tends to keep her toys in one pile inside, and one pile outside. She knows how to fetch but will NOT bring to you per say just 'around' you. She gets very excited when I throw a ball or toy across the yard.
Other Dogs: Slow to warm up with other dogs, especially if the other dog is larger than she is, or kind of “pushy”. She LOVES to play with a MaltiPoo who lives across the street. She loves to run and chase and all of that doggie stuff. Her foster brother is a Goldren Retriever (who is a large doggy compared to her) and she LOVES him, although it took her 2-3 days to trust him.
Barking: did not bark at all the first week she was with us. She finally barked on Saturday when the gardener arrived to maintain our landscaping. Since then, she barked one other time in the back yard, but I don’t know why. Could have been a bird…??
Walks: LOVES to take walks and is very good on a leash. She stays on my left for the most part and walks beside me. I do have to give her a little tug if she tries to cross in front of me, but this is happening less and less often. She does not pull or stop to smell every little patch of grass along the way. She does not use walks as “potty time”…strictly exercise.
