Scheduled Adoption Events

Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.  If you would like to try a Foster to Adopt trial, please fill out an Adoption Application. 

If you are only interested in temporarily Fostering one of our rescues, please fill out a Foster Application.

Penny is a 2 year old Lab/Shep mix who is fully grown at 61lbs. She is fully vaccinated, has been dewormed and is healthy. Sadly, Penny did once have a home, but her previous owner threw her out onto the streets after giving birth the second time. The owner did keep the pups, but Penny instinctually stayed by the front door trying to answer her pups' calls. The owner was heartless, however, and decided to stop feeding her, hoping she would leave. Before the situation could get any worse, one of her rescuer's friends was informed about Penny's predicament and came to her rescue. We were unable to rescue the pups, but Penny is now safely with us and now in need of a loving home.

Penny is such a sweet girl and she walks great on the leash. She is now crate-trained as well. She is good with other dogs, GREAT with people (men, women, and children), but she does not like cats.  She currently lives with a great foster brother named Jack Bower who is a pit mix and both fur kids love to rump around in the yard playing like little pupps while enjoying one on one R&R at night watching TV with our amazing foster parent,

As of 7/20/12 Penny is fostered in a home in Ocean Beach and her foster mom is starting to introduce Penny to dog parks and dog beach. Penny will need an adopter who has large breed experience or is willing to enroll in training classes to continue with Penny's training,
