Meet Prim, or Primrose. She has a sweet and friendly temperament, with an adventurous spirit that any young dog such as her should have. She was found on the 20th of May by our volunteers when they were attending the low cost spay/neuter clinic at the perrera (Mexican pound) and saw her hiding in the bushes near by. Story was she had been taken to the perrera by her "human" and while there she had escaped twice (this was the account given by the guard next door to the perrera).
Prim loves all people - men and women. Generally, she will approach everyone with a low tail wag, happy eyes, and asking for pets. If a tall, burly man approaches her without her noticing though, she may become unsure and will want to sniff him before he can pet her. When this does happen, she becomes happy immediately, wagging her tail and giving kisses. She hasn't been around children too often, but she is very respectful and has no toy or food possession issues with humans so we think she'll be great. Prim also gets along great with dogs, large and small. Before going to her foster home in Chula Vista, she was boarded at the Mesa College's Vet Tech facilities where she interacted with different dogs on a daily basis. Despite this, however, she is not good with cats, so we are looking for an adopter without any. She is healthy and all her vaccinations are up to date, she is dewormed, and spayed. She is perfect for an adopter who has always wanted to adopt a black Labrador Retreiver but is much smaller/petite in size! She is AMAZING, super smart, loving and outgoing!
