Adorable Britta was rescued back in July 2013 in Ensenada, Mexico. A couple of young teens were hiking and encountered a pack of semi-feral dogs. All were mangy and very hungry. They felt so bad for them they left their lunches for them. To the kids' surprise, one little girl had followed them down the hill. They called to her and she slowly approached one of the hikers. It was love at first sight of this many tick and flea infested pup.
Britta was taken to the vet for quarantine and medical treatment because she was so dehydrated. A few weeks later, a volunteer went to see Britta and took her home to foster. Because of Britta's past of being a young adult dog with no knowledge of leash training or house training, it took a while for her to recover medically and learn behaviorally. It didn't help her foster mom was debating keeping her as part of her crew but she has finally made the decision in order for her to keep helping other dogs she needs to help Britta find a forever home!
Unfortunately, we don't have a foster family for Britta in San Diego, so anyone interested in meeting her needs to contact us or file a dog adoption or foster application online so that we may bring Britta across the border to meet prospective families.
Britta is a cutie and such a sweet dog! She is crate and house trained. She is learning to walk on a leash, loves to play with other dogs, and of course she loves to be petted by people.
