To make the most out of your time, we suggest you SUBMIT an adoption APPLICATION BEFORE an adoption event.

Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Meet Journey! This little girl has certainly had quite the Journey! She was rescued months ago in Baja but sadly was not able to find a home there, so let's hope her Journey quickly ends in a loving home in San Diego. We're not quite sure of her "blend"--part Italian Greyhound? Some Basenji? A touch of Jack Russell? In any case, she's beautiful and unique, with a winning personality.

Her foster families have dedicated time and love to this little sweetheart to make sure she thrives in a family lifestyle. She is not a barker or jumper, and although she gets excited when her people come home, she's overall a very calm dog. Journey loves to nap on a comfy lap on the couch, but is also content resting in her crate (and currently sleeps there at night).

She has lived with doggy siblings ("woohoo, let's play!") as well as cats (she's curious about them, but doesn't chase them), and quickly bonds with humans of all ages. She likes to go for long walks, or just "chill out" in the yard. Journey can be a bit shy and cautious in new situations, but once she feels safe, her warm, gentle personality shines through.
