Here are some notes from Jess's current foster parents:
Because she was living in a cage in Tijuana her whole life, she is still learning how to interact with the world around her. She has improved dramatically with alot of boundaries and training provided; responds well to positive reinforcement only. Jess is VERY sweet and affectionate, she is absolutely adorable and charming. She walks well on a leash, is intelligent and learning manners. She is doing well with house-training (almost there) and has ALOT of energy; she never got to be a puppy, so she is being a puppy now! She plays non-stop. She needs someone that will walk her daily; when given long walks, she is much more calm. She has some separation-anxiety and likes to follow her foster-mom around the house all day; she will cry if left alone, but she is getting better
she sleeps in the crate at night next to foster-mom's bed. Jess is great with children and toddlers and all adults (NO signs of aggression). She loves to play with other small dogs in the home, but requires a tolerant/patient dog-sibling at this point because she is still learning how to "listen" to social cues. She would do well in a human-only home if the family has time to play with her and give her alot of attention.
