We received the sweetest “pupdate” about Mama Billie (mama to Pinky & The Brain ) who was adopted in October 2023. We could not be happier for her! The family met her during the October Mega Adoption event hosted by San Diego Animal Support Foundation and picked her up a week later once the process was finalized. Here is what her adoptive family had to say about Billie, who is now known as Millie:
“Just a big fat thank you for Billie, what a wonderful little girl. We sent your organization some gently used leashes and a couple of harnesses plus the ones you lent us when we took Billie home. She, is very smart, she is house trained, and comes tells me when she needs to go out. She now walks very well on a leash, and sits when I stop. She has learned a few hand signals, sit down, and loves our two cats. She loves chasing them until they have had enough, then she learns to back away real quick, normally running for one of our laps. She really loves her stuffed animal, and the winner...her balls. We did also take her to the veterinarian and came away with the same thing as your veterinarian, about two years old and very healthy, and on the last note....her hair is really growing and looking great. I gave her a bath the other day, she was really good. We can't thank you enough, she has made this a happy home. Thank you for...Billie....now known as Millie, a real sweetheart.”
We just received a fantastic “pupdate” for three of our ARWOB rescue pups. We are always overjoyed when an adopter decides to come back to us when they are ready to add another fur baby to their family.
Coco Puff was adopted from ARWOB in December 2019 and he will turn 16 years old this month! His adoptive mom says he is the absolutely best dog ever. He was originally relinquished by his family when he was 10 years old as a senior pup, but he was so fortunate to find a loving family of his own. He is still very active and full of life, enjoying the company of his two other ARWOB canine “siblings” Logan and Peaches (fka Buddy and Curry). Logan and Peaches joined the family in May 2022 and April 2023, respectively. Check out the adorable photos we received of this happy and healthy trio!
Lila (fka Butternut) was adopted in December 2022. Her adoptive dad shared this cute photo and wonderful "pupdate" about her:
"We have renamed her Lila. She is a very happy and loving pup, who as been a great addition to our home. Lila is a little bigger at 60 lbs at her last vet visit. We were keeping an eye on Buttercup for a while, mostly out of curiosity. Maybe we should have them meet. Lila is very healthy and active. She has a ton of energy and always wants to play. She can get a little wound up, but will calm down if it is not appropriate to play. We walk 2x per day. She does like to chew things that are left around (usually when she is alone, she plays with her toys when we are around) and likes to dig quite a bit. She listens rather well and we did take her to an obedience class that was 6 weeks long. She listens fairly well overall, but she can be a little stubborn. She wants to be near us as much as possible. She gives hugs and loves just saying hi. She loves leaning on people when she says hi. She loves everyone and has gotten along with all dogs she has met. She likes to put her head on the shoulder of front seat passengers while she is on a car ride (see pic). I added a few recent pictures of her. We have not done a DNA test yet but if we do, we will share it with you. Not knowing is kinda fun because people try to guess what kind of dog she is. We are so pleased that we were able to rescue her!"
Check out the cute photo of 3 ARWOB alumni pups that were adopted by the same family. Left to right is Peaches (fka Curry) who was adopted in April 2023, then Buddy (adopted May 2022), and Coco Puff (adopted Dec 2019). We love repeat adopters!
Coco and Dixie (fka Bunny) were adopted together in April 2023. We received this wonderful "pupdate" from their adoptive mom:
"Coco and Bunny are doing great. They are thriving and growing. We have renamed Bunny to Dixie and she is 15 pounds, Coco is 13 pounds. They are super active and love to play with each other as well as chew on all their different chew toys. They will begin puppy training this Tuesday! Looking forward to working with them. We are working on routines as well so they know and for puppies they are doing well. The family is all in love with them and they love to snuggle with them!"
