Sweet Valentina was adopted in April 2022. She is an indoor kitty, but her adoptive mom keeps her safe on back yard adventures with a leash/harness! Here is what she has to say about this little princess:
"She is doing great! She’s a little brat but we love her! She is getting along with my 2 dogs. She is so adventurous just always all over the house. We bought her a harness and started walking her outside our backyard, she loves it."
Sammy (fka Gordo) was adopted from ARWOB in April 2022. He is enjoying his new family and his canine friend, Maya! Here is what his adoptive mom has to say:
"He is doing great! We renamed him to Sammy. He is currently enrolled in training through Petco and will be for the next 16 weeks. He is doing really well with sit, stay, and come but still has a way to go with loose leash walking. He is so playful & energetic. He loves squeak toys and playing fetch, though he isn't always great about the "bringing the ball back" part. He has weekly playdates with my parents and their dog, Maya. They love each other!"
We received a sweet update about Red, who was adopted in April 2022. He has quite the rescue story, so hearing this wonderful update really warms our hearts! Here is what his adoptive mom has to say:
"I just love Red so much! When I saw his ad on FB I had lost my beloved orange cat Mowgli just a couple of months prior and was still grieving and not sure if I would adopt another cat. I saw his sweet sad eyes and his story about his broken pelvis and how he had been stuck in a kennel. I cried and immediately filled out an application for him. We did foster to adopt but knew right away that we would likely be keeping him. He’s got a ton of character and is a sweet boy. He loves to snooze in front of our sliding glass door and our neighbor’s toddler is obsessed with watching him. When he first came to us he was shy but curious. He had wiry fur and weak back legs from his broken pelvis. As he started to warm up we could tell how much he wanted to explore and play. He got right to bunny hopping up and down the stairs which was cute and quirky. He has really regained a lot of strength in his back legs and cruises around the house like a normal cat now! You almost can’t even tell he has a broken pelvis anymore. His fur has gotten really soft and beautiful and he loves to yell MROW in the house whenever he wants food or attention. He almost always is happy to come say hello when I call his name. He fits in so well and is a great buddy for our cat Mouse who lost his best friend not long ago. He has even really come around to being held and will let me pick him up and scratch his face. I’ve never kept a name any of my fur babies were given by a rescue, but Red suited him well so we kept it! I’m very grateful that I saw his ad as he has really helped heal my broken heart. Thanks for giving us our sweet boy!"
We received a fabulous "pupdate" about Kailua (fka Shamrock). He was adopted from ARWOB in April 2022 and he's doing very well with his new family. In fact, he also has been spending time with his ARWOB siblings! Here is what his adoptive mom has to say:
"Thanks for checking in! He's doing fantastic :) We've renamed him Kailua, and call him Kai. We've not done any formal training with him, but he's a really smart pup and easily picks up new tricks. We're still growing his confidence in living in a big city environment, with loud trucks and buses a regular occurrence on walks. He is a huge cuddle bug and absolutely loves other dogs. He really enjoys our weekend trips to dog beach. Recently, we also got together with his brothers and their new families! We can't thank you enough for taking such great care of him in his first few months. He's been an incredible addition to our family."
We absolutely love it when an adopter decides to come back to ARWOB and give a forever home to another one of our rescues! That’s exactly what happened with Maddie (fka Mandie) and Rose. Maddie was adopted in April 2020 and Rose joined the family in April 2022. Their adoptive mom has told us that they absolutely adore each other! They enjoy the beach and all of their fur cousins and doggie friends!
