Check the animal attendance the morning before the event to confirm attendance of a particular rescue. In addition, please check the up-to-date animals attendance list 1 HOUR BEFORE an event to know if the dog or cat you want to meet is still attending.

Also remember to review important event information BEFORE attending.

Meet Copper!

Copper was named after his beautiful bronze copper color. He was rescued as a singleton puppy found in the streets of Ensenada Mexico. He has been in a foster home in San Diego since early October and is a super sweet little gentleman. He loves dogs and cats, and he has been around children during outings and adoption events. We think he should be just fine in a home with children, who are mindful and know how to go slow when first meeting a new dog; especially a puppy like Copper, who is going into his “teens.”

Copper does fantastic in his crate and rides well in the car. He would probably love a home with another dog. If he cannot have a canine sibling, then he would require an adopter that will expose him to other dogs regularly so he can socialize with his own kind. Copper is a sweet love bug and has very cute little antics — he LOVES to play with his toys! He has a submissive personality around other dogs, but also knows how to maneuver around some of the alpha dog personalities. He will make an excellent companion, but he would also benefit from having his new adopter enroll him in puppy training to learn basic manners and commands. Puppy training will also help him socialize with other dogs and new people (which he LOVES). He is very smart and food motivated, so he should learn quickly.
