Meet Bonnie's babies: Bennie, Beow, Bobby, Becky, Betty, and Betsy!
Bonnie is a BEAUTIFUL long to medium coat calico who was rescued from the Devore shelter, along with her litter of 6 kittens (3 boys 3 girls) who were red listed to be euthanized in a couple of days for lack of space. We had a volunteer drive up from San Diego to Devore (2hr drive one way) to pick up and exit a different mama cat with kittens, but when she heard about Bonnie's and her little family's plea she asked if we could exit them as well. With no fosters or plan to take in more felines, we took Bonnie, her babies and 13 other kitties from the shelter!
The day Bonnie arrived with her kittens, who were probably only 2-3 weeks old back on 5/10/22, we realized all 20 kitties had horrible upper respiratory infections and, hence, quarantined and treated them all. After a couple of weeks of medications, they are now AMAZING strong, healthy, and SUCH such a LOVELY, friendly, and sweet family!!

The babies are AMAZING little ones. Strong, smart, survivors who have made things SO easy for their foster mom to help them make it. They never complained and always strived to make the best of their situation ei not being able to nurse from mom and having to learn to eat on their own at a much earlier time than normal. They learned to use their box so fast as well!
We were able to find a foster who took 2 siblings togethe:r a boy and a girl (Meow aka Beow AND Julia aka Betsy) who have been fostered on their own with a foster family. The other 4 babies:
2 boys and 2 girls are fostered together along with Bonnie and are just the SWEETEST little monkeys. The boys, Bennie and Bobby, are big babies, always playful, inquisitive, and loving.
The girls, Becky and Betty, are the most outgoing, fearless, smart, and loving girls.
It would be wonderful to adopt them in pairs, although if someone wanted to adopt an adult like Bonnie and one of her babies that would be a wonderful pair as well. We are looking for adopters only as these babies are not in need of a foster family. We are also looking for them to be adopted into families who will keep them socialized with other cats as they would do best in a forever family that has other feline friends. They don't live with dogs but, like all kittens, should acclimate to them in a slow, proper introduction and, like all kittens, they would be completely fine with children. They are just the silliest sweetest kittos!!
Summary of adoption process:
Submit an application online @ ARWOB.org, contact us via email within 3 days to check on the status of your application IF you have not heard from one of our volunteers first.
Once a phone interview is scheduled (typically 10-15min chat) we can finish processing the adoption or foster application and hopefully move forward to set up a meet and greet in 92117 area.
Typically, adopted or foster kitties go home the same day as the meeting.
If the adoption application is not approved you will receive an email with notification.
Adoptions can take 2-7 days from the time we receive application to the day kitty goes home.
It's really dependent on applicants' ability to provide the rescue group with the items needed to finalize an adoption. For example - if you rent, we recommend you have already received written approval from your landlord stating you may have a cat or multiple as that would be a determining factor on how FAST an adoption occurs.
We DO NOT place Holds on rescues- IF you are not ready to adopt within the week you submit the application we recommend waiting to submit application until you are ready, as that rescue may no longer be available when you are ready.
WE DO NOT DO SAME DAY ADOPTIONS - IF you are looking for a NOW/TODAY adoption, don't waste your time submitting an application online and we recommend you visit your local city shelter to find a new family member.
